November 2nd

August 30, 2006: So, since mid-June, I've been feeling a bit off about this whole band thing. Don't ask me why. I just don't know. Anyway, I've been thinking about "parking" the band for a while. Just long enough to relearn the writing process. It seems that whenever I work with someone new, there's some give and take. Well, if you haven't noticed, this tree isn't bearing much fruit these days. (if you know what I mean) Still, I can't help but feel that we're goin' into this half-heartedly. I just can't put my finger on it and it's driving me nuts. To make a long story short... Just when I'm getting ready to throw the brakes on this bitch, along comes Haunted House Studio and saves the day. We had our first production meeting and it looks like we'll start shooting the video for evoL in late September. This is just the thing I needed. Although, I can't speak for the rest of the band, I think this came at just the right time. The two cats calling the shots during this project will be none other than Mr. Carlos Pina (of Transvection Now) and Mr. Eric Bosse (of Eyewash Pictures). I'm a huge fan of their work. If you wanna see what I'm talking about, then you should get a hold of these young men. (you'll be glad you did) Till next time, take care and keep an eye out for news about the video.

June 19, 2006: After talking about Burning The Witch for what seemed like an eternity, it's finally up. It's on Myspace. Go check it out. I figured it made no sense to go and kill myself to try and get a good clean sound out of the shitty tracks we recorded. So, we'll leave that for the studio recording of Hollow God. For now, the songs are just there to give you an idea as to the direction we'll be shootin' off into with this music. The writing is slowing down. I'm tryin' to "catch my second wind", but just can't seem to get back in gear. The last couple of weeks I've just been feeling... I don't know... Flavor-of-the-day. (I guess) Still, I'm working on a new song. Oh, and we're bringin' back "hollow god" (the song [duh]). All I know at this point in time is, that things better start falling into place. Soon. One more thing, we're looking for a drummer. So, if you or anyone you know plays drums and... well, you know what I'm getting at here. Lemme know. Till next time, take care.

April 16, 2006: Okay, in case you didn't already know, "Chuck" has been recorded and is now posted on myspace. So check it out if you haven't done so yet. As always, I welcome any and all feedback. On top of that, we've recorded "Burning The Witch". Although we're thinking of redoing some of the tracks, there is a very rough mix of the song on my personal profile on myspace. I'm sure it will soon be on November 2nd's profile. Londo and Jaime are still working on their song. as far as I know the music is done on that one, but they're still working out the details.

March 17, 2006: First things first. Beannachtái Lá Fhéile Pádraig (pronounced: ban-ach-tee la fay-le Paw-drig) Happy St. Patrick's Day ! I have no real updates at this time. Some good news ; I'm done with the lyrics to Burning The Witch. 90 % of the music is done as well. Chuck's done, but I have not gotten around to recording any of it. Actually, that's a lie. I did record bass, guitar and drums for it, but still need the vox, 2nd guitar and solo. I'll get it done soon enough. Not tonight 'cause I'm on my way out. (gotta go get in touch with my Irish roots. [I may not be Irish at this time, but by the time I get done with all this green beer stuff, I will be as Irish as my neighbor Aoife O'Cyry] ) In the meantime, you can check out GIAC. (they have nothing to do with Nov.2nd, 'cept I'm really into them these days.)

March 7, 2006: Here's a quick update. We've been working with a new drummer the last couple of weeks. It's still a bit early to go too deep into it, but it has been going well so far. Chuck is pretty much done, but we'll be changing a couple of things on it before we share that with you. I'm still working on Burning The Witch, plus Jaime and Londo are working on a song as well. I won't go into that one just yet, but I'll tell you this much, the music was written by Londo and the lyrics were all done by Jaime. Where was I during all this? - Well, I was being their "cheerleader". With that said, I look forward to sharing these songs with you soon. So, keep checking back.

February 19, 2006: Okay, I haven't had a chance to upload the full version of "Chuck", but I did hook it up with a video clip of the guitar solo. Kind of a "hey look at what I can do" type thing. So,with that said ...go check it out and lemme know what you think. I hope to have the full song up for you guys soon. (those of you that know me, know that's not happening anytime soon.)

February 14, 2006: Well, here's the first update for the new year. I realize the last update was in November of last year. That means that at this point, the updates aren't even quarterly updates. Still, let's not dwell on the things we haven't done, but instead, let's talk about what the band has been up to these days. First things first. We still have no drummer. The whole thing with Gabriel didn't work out. From one day to the next he kinda just wasn't there. Good luck to him with whatever he's doin' these days. So, we have no drummer, but there's ways around that. At the moment we have Carlos sittin' in on drums. For all time keepin' purposes, it's workin' out just fine. Another thing that's changed since the last post is that we now have a new bass player. Jaime is a solid bass player and he keeps getting better with every practice. With his attitude, sense of humor, and eagerness to write songs he brings a little something extra to the band. You can check out some pix of this cat in the images section of the site. We try to get together every week. (at least once a week) We've started writing as a band so maybe soon you'll hear what each member is bringin' to the band. We just finished up a new song (Chuck) which was written with the current line up. I don't mind tellin' you, I really dig this tune. It's a little different from anything I've written before, but in a good way. I hope to have and audio clip of that song up very soon. With that song outta the way, we've begun working on the next song. This is a song that I started working on about 5 months ago. I never really sat down to write and get it down. It was more of an idea this whole time. Well, I'm done thinkin' about it and we're now working on gettin' it done. In comparison to Chuck, it's a much more simple song. It's along the lines of Horror Queen. So, keep an eye out for that one. That's about all I've got for you this time around. I'll be updating again soon. At that point I'll add a rough copy of Chuck. So, keep checkin' back.

November 06, 2005: So, It's been a while since the last update. Londo is now in his new house and we got a practice space. That's just the thing we needed. We've already started getting together and it's going well. I wouldn't go so far as to say we're right on track, but it could be a lot worse. Finding a drummer was almost an issue. (again) but I recently heard from Gabriel, and we should be ready to go very soon. There will be a lot more updates as we start getting out shit together.

August 17, 2005: We'll be switching from www.nov2nd.com to www.november2nd.com starting December 1, 2005. So, update your bookmarks. You can start using the new address as of now. So, do it.

August 15, 2005: A couple of changes to report at this time. First of all we got us a little help from an old friend. Carlos will be managing November 2nd. I have complete faith in this guy. He's got the music background it takes to do the job plus we have the same taste in music. Not to mention he's worn this hat before. (managed November 2nd with the former line-up) Although these days he spends much of his time on directing and writing, he still has to write all the music for his films. We've been talking about getting him to help us add some live footage to the final release of Hollow God. You can get in touch with him by clicking on the "Contact" link. I met up with this new cat. Let's call this new cat Gabriel. Well, Gabriel seems very interested in filling the drummer position in November 2nd. I'm all for it. So, with a little effort, we'll be back on track very very soon. I'm working on something else, but I don't wanna jinx it, so, I'll save that for later.

August 4, 2005: Still nothing happening with November 2nd, but this update is not really about us. It's all about The Bloodhound Gang. Fuckers. They've released the first single (Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo) off the upcoming album.(Hefty Fine) Along with the first single they've released a video for the song. So check it out. F.U.C.K. So, after you watch it and you find yourself hooked, go to http://www.Bloodhooundgang.com and see what else you've been missing.

July 30, 2005: Not a whole lot going on right about now. Since things aren't working themselves out like I thought they would, I guess I'll have to put forth a little effort to make this happen. Fuck! I did get a new guitar. I know, the fuckin' thing's not gonna play itslef. Just because I've not been in the studio in the past 3 months, doesn't mean I'm not doing anything. I am workin' on some new stuff. I'm working on a song called "Burning The Witch" which is almost all done. And I also have another song which lost it's title, but it's still a good song. I'm currently looking forward to playing with this new cat. (new drummer) We'll see how that goes. In the meantime, you locals can catch Ron playing around town with this other band. I don't really remember the name, but you can always email Ron and ask him for a little more info. That's it for now, I will be working on the site tonight and tomorrow. I found some really old 4 track tapes earlier today. One of them has like 4 or 5 acoustic songs. So I was thinking I'd start up a little corner for all my bullshit that doesn't quite fit in with the whole band thing. Not really a blog or anything like that. Hell, you've seen the great job I'm doing updating this fucking page. Besides, web logs are for people who have something to say. I better run off now or this may turn into my blog.

May 16, 2005: Okay, here's an update for you guys. I know it's been a while since the last one, but not a whole lot has been happening. One of the things you probably noticed is that the flash intro is gone. I'll bring that back at a later time. I was just messin' around with it to see what I could come up with. I got a lot of good feedback on it, but I think I could do much better next time around. I was the last one to get my work schedule together so, our sitting around not doing anything with the band is mostly my fault. Now that the whole band is on the same page, we can start getting things done. Summer is almost here and we have a lot of catchin' up to do if we wanna be ready to start doing shows. We'll probably move it back a month from June to July. Still, we'll have to play it by ear and take it as it comes. We did spend some time in the studio this past weekend and managed to knock out a new version of Horror Queen. You really should check it out. What's the big deal with it? Well, for starters, it's got the rest of the band playin' in it. Also, it's changed a bit. You'll notice we got a real drummer in it too. A nice change from the drum machine I used a couple of years ago. The tempo also changed, but that was gonna happen anyway. The songs are still evolving and I think you'll see what I'm talking about when you listen to this version of HQ. Take the time to shoot me a quick note and lemme know what you think. I split lead duties on this song with Londo and I think you'll really dig what he's doing. Ron redid the entire bass line for this song right on the spot and sounds better than anything I would have slapped on there. I'll have this track up on myspace soon. For now, click here to check it out.

March 22, 2005: So, here's what's been goin' on with us. Still no drummer, but we have been gettin' together with this one cat. He's been helping us out with the drumming. His name is Victor and he played with a San Antonio local band which you can catch at: Http://www.TheDrones.net. With Victor keeping us in time, we started recording on the 18th of this month. Londo and I are gonna have a work schedule change pretty soon. All that means is, it will be a lot easier for us to get together more often for practice, recording and shit like that. We wanna get this recording knocked out real soon for you guys. So, as soon as I have something, I'll post it in the sounds section and let you know. I know I've been sayin' that for a while now, but hang in there, this time we actually got Ron to "hit" the record button and the tape is now rolling. Well, not really, but if we were recording on tape it would be rolling.

February 8, 2005: Just a quick update. So, you know we got a new guitarist.(Londo) Well, we now have a new bass player. Ron from South Texas Vü-Dü Recording Studio is our new bass player. Over the last few weeks, we've been getting together and going over the music. I'm totally diggin' the way it's evolving. Everyone is bringing something new to the "table", as far as sound goes, and I couldn't be happier. All we need now is a drummer and we're all set to go out and kick some ass. The past couple of times we've gotten together, we've had a friend fill in on drums. So, a big "Thank You" goes out to Paul for helping us out with the time keeping. He's doing a great job and definitely has his own style which really adds a lot to the band. That's it for now, but keep checking back for updates. Everything is falling into place so quickly, I'm sure I'll have another update for you soon.

January 27, 2005: So... the cleansing begins. The music is headed in a great and fresh direction. This past week I've learned so much. We got a new song just about ready. Should be posted by mid Feb. Totally different style. Something to round out our sound. Sorry for the lack of updates, but hey... it's either work on the site or work on the music. That's all for now. People in the "619" area code are always welcome to hit me up. (even if it means calling in the middle of the night. [I really appreciate the messages]) I'll blow your socks off and actually answer one of these times. Take care everybody. Okay, you've read this, now go check out Http://www.MySpace.com/November2nd and comment on the songs. Good or bad, I don't care. Feedback people. That's what it's all about.

January 7, 2005: I got around to selling some of my gear.(with hopes to make rent) No dice. I got nothing and now I'm out 2 guitars and the Hartke system. Fuck. What can you do?...

January 6, 2005: Well, here it is. The new year and we're off to a bad start. Today I had to sell 2 of my guitars and a full Hartke bass system. Between all 4 pieces of equipment, I didn't get enough to make rent this month. It's all gonna work out. I just know it. Not a whole lot as far as updates, but I'll be adding a few pics pretty soon. I've also been working on some new songs. Nothing to post yet, but maybe within a couple of weeks. I didn't get a chance to thank everyone back in the valley. Everyone was very, very cool. Adrian, Bean, Pete and Robert. I look forward to hanging out with you guys again. (soon I hope) when you get a chance, stop by MySpace and check out the band. It's coming along nicely. Till next time. Take Care.

December 29, 2004: I'm Back home! I just want to thank everyone for all the e-mail and feedback I got over the last couple of weeks. I started to transfer all the info. for this site from the laptop to the desktop and I missed a couple of things. So, chances are if you sent me any e-mail within the last couple of weeks, I don't have it. I may have read it, but if I did, I don't remember your addresses. I like to reply to every piece of mail I get.(mail that has to do with the band... smart ass) So, If you hit me up with a question or anything like that, shoot it my way again. (please) You gotta cut me some slack on this one, I drove for 5 hours straight in the fog. Not just any fog, I'm talkin' heavy duty shit...Scooby-Doo type fog. I woke up @ 4 A.M. and was on the road by 4:30. Not cool at all. I Also wanted to thank everyone for the X-Mas cards. I was disappointed to not find a check in my mailbox, but the cards helped the sight of all those bills all at once. I hope to get started on a couple of new songs here pretty soon and as soon I have something worthwhile, I'll post it here. Oh and I did add a handful of new pix to the friends image page. Check it out. look for the guy drinking table salt.

December 27, 2004: Still in the valley. I ran across some old tapes. Demos and shit like that. I don't have everything I need to work on this site from here, but I did add some clips under the sounds page. Go check it out. The sound quality is really poor because these are tapes that spent a good deal of during summer up in the attic and in my old closet as well. I've really been inspired to write new material while I've been down here, but the fuckin' twit that I am, I forgot to bring a guitar. Oh well. I've been taking pictures of old friends, but I can't unload the camera until I get back home. All in all, this trip to the valley turned out to be a pretty good thing. I may be on my way home soon, or I may just stay till the new year. Don't know yet.

December 24, 2004: I'm still in the valley, I tried to update the page a few days back and fuct up. So, I'll fix it all when I get back home. Till then, Merry Christmas. Thanks.

December 19, 2004: I just got into town about an hour ago. I've been in the Valley the last few days. I came up to check on a couple of things and to celebrate Summer's birthday. I'll be going back down to the Valley tomorrow (Sunday) and don't know when I'll be back. It's hard to update from down there. If I'm not back soon, enjoy your holidays. While I was here, I did update page 3 under images/friends of the band. I'll have some more pix once I get back from the Valley. I plan on talking some pix tonight at the party. Take care and keep checking back. Don't for get to hit up MySpace.com! thanks

December 13, 2004: Between the hours of 4a.m. and 6a.m. I found myself bored and no longer able to work on the recordings. Thin walls around here. (neighbors need their sleep) So, November 2nd is now at Myspace.com. There's nothing there that you won't see or hear on this site, but go check it out anyway. Oh, and while you're there, play the shit outta those songs. (I didn't upload them for nothing) Thanks. http://www.myspace.com/november2nd
I've been thinking: Mascot.

December 10, 2004: still working on the site. I added a bunch of files to the "images" section. Mostly to the friends part of the section. Why so many pix of friends? Long story short... If it wasn't for friends, I prolly would have given up on the whole music thing. Anyway, I was asked to leave a "little message." on here. So here you go Miss Alabama: This is the face I make when I'm sad.

December 9, 2004: Well, I didn't make it over to Ron's place last weekend, but I'm really gonna try to get out there this weekend. Unless I go out of town, that's the plan. I've been working on the site. I re-did the logo. I also cleaned up a lot of the things that were causing problems for the visitors. No more rollover sounds and no auto-load midi either. So, feedback would be nice. Just to make sure I stay on the right track. BTW, I got a hold of Mr. Daniel Brummel. (bass player for Ozma) and the tells me Ozma is no more. They broke up back in July. I had no fucking clue. I still have the link to their page in my links page. However, that link doesn't go anywhere anymore. I'll leave it there for a while longer. (just in case) With that said, quit e-mailing me to tell me the fucking link to ozmaonline.com is broken. I know it's broken. I just fucking told you it was. :)

December 2, 2004: I'll be getting together with Ron of South Texas Vudu Studio over this weekend. Maybe I'll learn something and I'll start working on cleaning up some of the tracks for "Hollow God". Hard to say how long it'll be before I have anything done and ready. I'll know more after the weekend. Also, I'll be able to post downloadable tracks as I clean 'em up. So keep checking back and lemme know what you think. Oh, I'm also looking into getting some Nov2nd stickers. I've looked online and didn't find anything that really caught my eye. So, I'll check the local print shops tomorrow. By the way, I pierced my lip today.(yeah for the 250th time) Oh well.

October 15, 2004: Well, no real news to speak of here lately. Getting things ready to carry on with the music making. Also, I've been toying with the idea of redesigning the site. I finally stopped playing and started on that. So, I hope to give you a much cooler and sleeker site soon. Knowing me the way I do, the only thing i can say for sure is that it won't happen overnight. I'll stick to it and get it done. So there. If all goes the way I'm planning it, i'll be able to slim down the site and have room to have some sound clips directly on this site. Since I won't be working on "this" site anymore, you can catch up with me @ Http://www.SuicideGirls.com/members/rawhed That's it for now.

July 2, 2004: First things first. Hooray Me! It's my birthday and I'm gonna get drunk. Not a whole lot going on with the music right now, but I will be working on cleaning up the vocal tracks next week. A friend of mine (Eddie Longoria) will be helping me out with that. I'm also going to start working on "The Undoing Of A Smile". I'll be using Misty on guitar for that one. Maybe we'll come up with some good ideas. All the parts for the song have been written, but a fresh eye never hurts. Oh, I just have to mention, before I forget, I ran into this really cool cat working at Screaming Monkey Tattoo & Piercing. His name is Many and he has been doing the work on my arms. He's done Regan and Cap. Howdy so far. He also did some "stitch" work on my wrists. My GDU was done by Leon who also works at screaming monkey. You can find a link to their website in the links section. so check it out.
June 28, 2004 :They say no news is good news, but what they don't mention is how boring it can be. Not much going on right now. Just working on the site. I'll try to stick to it this time. We'll see how that goes.
